Carnyxian

about

Castell Henllys is a re-created Iron Age village literally built over the footprint of an original two and a half thousand year old Iron Age Hillfort.
Situated in the north Pembrokeshire national park, today there is a busy visitors centre and small museum. The community at the village dres the ancient Iron Age part and guide visitors on a tour of the recreated Roundhouses and Village.
The Carnyx was a mighty horn standing tall above the heads of the iron age blowers. Often the horn opening was fashioned in a fearsome dragons teeth style, the romans apparently feared the sound of the Carnyx.
The sound here is augmented by a 'late' good friend of mine who would take to the Barton Hills and blow his Conch Shell.
So the beautiful landscape of the drone footage circling around Castell Henllys was the direct inspiration for this music

lyrics

Dear little cat - is it? Dear little cat, catch the mouse. The mouse won't cut the rope, and the rope won't hang the ox, and the ox won't drink the water, water won't put out the fire, fire won't burn the axe, axe won't cut the cudgel, cudgel won't beat the dog, dog won't chase the lamb, and the lamb won't walk home and my back is too weak to carry him.'

Off went the cat to catch the mouse, off went the mouse to cut the rope, off went the rope to hang the ox, off went the ox to drink the water, off went the water to put out the fire, off went the fire to burn the axe, off went the axe to cut the cudgel, off went the cudgel to beat the dog, off went the dog to chase the lamb, and off went the lamb homewards."

Does anyone remember "I knew an old Lady who swallowed a Fly"? The accumulative story or 'Chain Tale' which is a repeating story is genetically similar to this ancient Welsh tale.
