The Bwci Bo

from Mabinogia Vol One by Nostramus

/

about

A roman road passes through a high point in the Cambrian uplands and crowned at the highest point is an ancient ruin. A circular ditch and depression has a huge recumberant megalith, some 5 metres by 2 metres weighing some multiple tons.
This is the so called 'Bwci Bo' which translates to the 'Goblin Stone'
Some say this is a neolithic monument which originally contained a stone circle, the fallen stone being the last surviving feature.
However others interperate this as a roman look out point as it overlooks the highest point of the roman road. Who knows, proper research is needed.
But there is a magical element to the footage and genus loci of the location the day I took that footage that inspired me to write this music which for me, transcends the heights above the valleys and Cambrian uplands.
I totally blissed out when composing this music and still do , this is the first of two movements of the same base. The second movement comes later in the album.
